„If Vilnius Half-Marathon“ EVENT RULES

„Vilnius Half-Marathon“ will take place on 2024 May 25th in Vilniaus.

  1. To promote the culture of running in Lithuania, to encourage interest in running.
  2. To increase the number of mass events in Vilnius. Increase the activity of the city’s population.
  3. Promote and encourage running as a healthy lifestyle.
  4. To identify the best runners of different age groups.

“Vilnius Half-Marathon” participants will be able to choose the following distances:

  • 21,098 K
  • 10 K
  • Nike Youth 5K Run (for runners up to and including 29 years old)
  • Kids Run (for runners aged 2 to 12 years inclusive)
Start at the Cathedral Square (Šventaragio str.)
  • 15:30 CHILDREN’S RUN (for runners from 2 to 12 years old inclusive) start
  • 16:30 5 km run start
  • 17:30 Half marathon and CUPRA 10k start
  • 20:30 Nike Youth 5K Run – 20:00 (for runners up to 29 years old)

  1. The race is open to all who wish to participate after completing the registration form, paying the registration fee (according to the distance chosen) and having undergone a health check and confirming this at registration.
  2. All participants take part in the Run of their own free will, without being forced to do so by anyone, and assume all risks associated with participation in the Run (including any medical conditions, etc.), and undertake not to make any claims against the organisers of the Run in respect thereof.
  3. Runners must have a proof of identity when collecting their entry pack, which includes: entry number with timing chip, locker room sticker with number, event programme and other items. A copy of the participant’s ID/photo is required to pick up another participant’s start package.
  4. Each participant who has registered for the run automatically agrees that the event organisers are free to use all photographs and footage taken during the event for marketing purposes without any separate consent.
    Participation is open to: 5 km – persons under 29 years of age; 10 km – all persons; 21.098 km – persons under 16 years of age.
  5. Participants under the age of 18 years, by submitting a completed and signed consent form, acknowledge that they have the consent of their parent, guardian or coach to participate in the event and/or that they will be supervised by a parent, guardian or coach throughout the event, who will take full responsibility for the participant.
  6. By registering, the participant confirms that he/she understands that participation in the event involves a significant challenge to the physical capabilities of the person, and confirms that he/she has undergone a health check-up, complies with the health check-up requirements provided for in the legislation of the Republic of Lithuania, and, if requested by the organisers or other persons, will submit a health certificate to confirm this. In the event of suspicion of ill health, the participant must, at the request of the organisers, discontinue his/her participation in the event and consult a doctor.
  7. The Participant understands and acknowledges that the Organisers shall not be liable for and shall not compensate for any damage to the Participant’s health or life. All risks and liability for health problems, injuries and accidents resulting from the Participant’s participation in the Event shall be borne solely by the Participant.
    1. All athletes from Russia and Belarus agree to compete without competition and do not claim any prizes or awards. Professional athletes are not eligible to participate in the event (notwithstanding any applicable exceptions).
    2. All Russian and Belarusian citizens with a residence permit in Lithuania must pay the registration fee by bank transfer.
    3. Each participant must present his/her Lithuanian residence permit, a document signed in free form, stating
      position against Russian hostilities (in English or Lithuanian) and a copy of payment.
    4. All these documents must be sent to info@vilniauspusmaratonis.lt between 8 and 14 May, or during this period by email to inform the participant that the documents will be brought to the number pick-up point on 22-25 May. Failure to comply with these time intervals will result in non-entry and a refund of the entry fee after the event. Registration will be confirmed only after receipt of documents.
    5. In accordance with the recommendation of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania and the announcement of the Lithuanian Athletics Federation (below), and the decision taken by the Public Institution “International Marathon”, citizens of Russia and Belarus are strictly forbidden to take part in the events organised by the organisation. Exceptions apply to persons who have and can produce an official residence permit issued by the responsible authorities of the Republic of Lithuania for the territory of the Republic of Lithuania during the event.
    6. Participants must present their Lithuanian residence permit when collecting their bib number (regardless of whether the document has already been sent to their e-mail).
  8. The organisers reserve the right to request additional documentation if the documents sent are suspicious.
    The Organisers reserve the right not to accept the documents submitted and to refuse participation in the event without further explanation. (In this case, the participation fee will be refunded after the event).

    03 16 on Belarusian and Russian citizens

  1. You can only register under your own name. It is forbidden to transfer your number to another participant.
  2. If a registered participant wants to change to a shorter distance, he/she has to pay a distance change fee of 10 EUR. If the participant wants to change to a longer event, the difference between the entry fee according to the entry fee valid on the date of payment and the distance change fee – 10 EUR – must be paid. The change of distance is possible until 21 May 2024 at 24:00.
  3. If a registered participant wishes to change the participant’s information on the entry list or the size of the T-shirt, he/she must pay a change of information fee of 10 EUR. Changes can only be made to the details of the registered participant. Changes can be made until 21 May 2024 at 24:00.
  4. Changes to the registration details will be made once the participant has paid for the service and informed the organisers by email: info@vilniauspusmaratonis.lt, together with the payment statement and the details to be changed.

  5. The use of any means of transport such as bicycles, roller skates, skateboards or other wheeled vehicles is strictly prohibited for participants and their supporters. Participants who violate this point will be disqualified.
  6. Participants are not allowed to use any personal escort during the competition. Participants violating this rule will be disqualified.
  7. Participants are strictly forbidden to bring their pets during the event. Such participants will be disqualified if spotted.
  8. Each participant must have a number neatly affixed to his/her t-shirt. The number must be placed on the front of the T-shirt (chest) in a clearly visible place. Participants who run without a number will be disqualified.
  9. Finishers must leave the start/finish area via the designated exits. It is strictly forbidden to walk through the control time zone after finishing, otherwise the results will be void.
  1. There will be refreshment points along the course where water will be distributed to the competitors.
  2. Bio-toilets will be built on the half marathon course for participants.

The winners of the first three places will be announced in the women’s and men’s absolute category in the 5 KM, 10 KM and 21.098 km distances.

Finishers of the Nike Youth 5K Run, 10 KM and 21,098 KM will be awarded commemorative medals.

The youngest participants of the Kids’ Run will be awarded special commemorative medals.

*Registered participants in the 5 km, 10 km and 21.098 km until 05.04.2024 will receive personalised bib numbers.

***Nike Youth 5K Run is open to children and young people up to 29 years of age (under 18 years of age with parental or guardian consent).

The entry fee is non-refundable.

Registration takes place on www.manobegimas.lt. You can register for the run by filling in the registration form and making a payment via online banking.
Registration is ongoing:
  • Until 24 May at 24:00 online,
  • On 27 May (the day of the event) registration will take place at the venue.
  • Information on the pick-up of participant’s packages will be updated.
  • Once the registration form has been duly filled in and the entry fee paid, the participant will be entered in the start protocol.
  • By registering, the participant confirms that he/she agrees to receive newsletters and SMS messages related to the events organised by VšĮ “Tarptautinis maratonas”.
  • The contents of the participant’s bag must be checked by the participant at the place of collection. After collection, in the event of a shortage of the contents of the basket, the contents of the basket shall not be replenished. The Participant’s basket will not be returned after the event.
  • Each participant must collect his/her start packet at the time of the pre-delivery and on the day of the event at least 2 hours before the start of the selected distance. If you arrive at the pick-up point later, you will be able to collect ONLY your bib number (the sponsor packet will not be given as a gift).
The winner of the Most Generous Organisation Cup will be determined by the number of registered participants in the Half Marathon, 10 KM and 5 KM distances. Important rule – members of an organisation must indicate the exact (same) name of the organisation they represent on the registration form.
The winning team will be awarded a trophy on the day of the event.
The largest running club will be determined by the number of registered participants in the Half Marathon, 10 KM and 5 KM distances. An important rule is that members of a running club must indicate the exact (same) name of the club they represent on the registration form.
