RULES

„If“ Vilnius Half Marathon“ will take place on May 23rd, 2026, in Vilnius, Lithuania.

  1. To promote running culture in Lithuania and encourage interest in running.

  2. To increase the number of mass events in Vilnius.

  3. To increase physical activity among city residents.

  4. To promote running as a healthy lifestyle.

  5. To identify the strongest athletes in each distance.

Participants may choose the following distances:

  1. “If” 21.098 km
  2. Cupra 10 km
  3. 5 km
  4. Children’s Run (for runners aged 2 to 12 inclusive)

Start: Cathedral Square (Šventaragio St.)

  1. All individuals who complete the registration form, pay the registration fee (according to the selected distance), and confirm their health status may participate. Participation is voluntary, and participants assume full responsibility for all risks related to participation (including health issues) and agree not to make any claims against the organizers.

  2. When collecting the start package (which includes the bib number with timing chip, cloakroom sticker, etc.), runners must present an identity document or a copy. To collect another participant’s package, a copy/photo of their ID must be presented.

  3. By registering, participants agree that photos and video recordings taken during the event may be freely used by the organizers for marketing purposes without additional consent.

  4. Participants under 18 years of age must submit a completed and signed consent form confirming parental/guardian/coach permission and supervision during the event.

  5. By registering, the participant confirms awareness of the physical demands of the event, confirms having checked their health condition, and agrees to provide medical confirmation upon request. If organizers suspect an unsuitable health condition, the participant must stop participating and consult a doctor.

  6. Participants acknowledge that organizers are not responsible for any health damage or loss of life. All risks related to injuries, health issues, and accidents rest solely with the participant.

All athletes from Russia and Belarus agree to compete without ranking eligibility and are not eligible for prizes or awards. Professional athletes are not allowed to participate.

All Russian and Belarusian citizens with Lithuanian residence permits must pay the registration fee via bank transfer.

Each participant must submit:

  • A valid Lithuanian residence permit

  • A signed statement (in Lithuanian or English) expressing opposition to Russia’s military actions

  • Proof of payment

Participants must inform organizers via info@vilniauspusmaratonis.lt that documents will be delivered at bib pickup. Failure to comply will result in disqualification and refund after the event.

According to Lithuanian Ministry of Education and Lithuanian Athletics Federation recommendations, Russian and Belarusian citizens are prohibited from participating unless they hold an official Lithuanian residence permit valid during the event.

Organizers reserve the right to request additional documents or deny participation without further explanation (registration fee refunded after the event).

 

  • All children must present a signed parental/guardian consent form when collecting bibs.

  • Children under 6 years (inclusive) may run accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • Parents/guardians must write a contact phone number on the back of the child’s bib.

  • Storage services are not provided for children’s run participants’ belongings.

  1. Participants violating rules will be disqualified.

    • Registration is personal and non-transferable.

    • Bib transfer is prohibited.

    • Use of bicycles, skates, scooters, or wheeled vehicles on the course is prohibited.

    • Personal escorts are prohibited.

    • External assistance is prohibited.

    • Running with pets is prohibited.

    • Bib numbers must be visibly attached to the front of the shirt.

    • Leaving the course without referee permission is prohibited.

    • Finish area must be exited through designated exits.

    • Crossing the timing control zone after finishing is prohibited (results will be annulled).

Changes can be made up to 7 calendar days before the event by email (info@vilniauspusmaratonis.lt) with proof of payment.

Only registered participants may request changes.
A €10 service fee applies to all changes, except medical cases with documentation.

Distance Change

  • Switching to a shorter distance: €10 service fee only

  • Switching to a longer distance: €10 service fee + price difference

Other Changes

Club name, shirt size, and similar changes incur a €10 service fee (subject to availability).

Registration Transfer to Next Year

Allowed only in case of injury/illness with medical proof. No service fee.

Information about the place and time for collecting race packs will be specified closer to the event.

  1. The participant must check the contents of the race pack at the collection point. After collection, if there is a shortage in the pack, it will not be supplemented.
  2. The race pack is not issued after the start of the chosen distance. Each participant must collect their start pack during the advance distribution time and on the event day at least 2 hours before the start of the chosen distance. If arriving later at the collection point, the participant’s pack with sponsor gifts, depending on the situation and participant flow, may not be issued—i.e., only the bib number may be provided.

The winner of the Cup for the Largest Organization will be determined according to the number of registered participants in the half marathon, 10 km, and 5 km distances. An important rule – organization members must indicate the exact (same) name of the represented organization in the registration form. The winning team will be awarded a cup on the event day.

Public Institution “Tarptautinis maratonas,” legal entity code: 300561278, registered address: Kedrų g. 3, (room 301-2), Vilnius, tel. +37064732998, email info@vilniauspusmaratonis.lt, is the data controller responsible for collecting and processing the data submitted by persons participating in the “If” Vilnius Half Marathon.

  1. Public Institution “Tarptautinis maratonas” is also the operator of the website www.vilniauspusmaratonis.lt.
  2. Participants submit data by completing the registration form on the website www.manobegimas.lt. These data are processed on the basis of the data controller’s legitimate interest – for the organization and implementation of the “If” Vilnius Half Marathon and for the participant’s participation therein: 2.1. Information about first name, last name, date of birth, as well as payment data for registration are processed for the processing and administration of the purchase of participant services (registration) for participation in the event.
    2.2. Information about the phone number, email address, date of birth, gender, country, city, as well as data about the results achieved in the event (time, place) are processed for information and event organization purposes (to send relevant information about the event, to determine results and winners, prepare awards, determine categories in which the participant competes (by gender, age), etc.).
    2.3. Information about the participant’s first name, last name, and email address is also processed for direct marketing, if the participant has given prior consent.
  3. The participant must provide the data specified in sections 2.1 and 2.2 to complete registration and for achieving the event’s purposes.
  4. Data about the participant’s first name, last name, age group, gender, achieved results (time, place), as well as city and country are publicly published on the websites www.manobegimas.lt, www.vilniauspusmaratonis.lt, www.ltutiming.lt. To ensure transparency of results, by registering for the event, the participant automatically agrees that these data will be publicly published on the website.
  5. Each participant agrees that their email address and participant number will be used for GetPica service photos.
  6. Participant data retention:
    6.1. Data about the participant’s phone number and email address – 5 years from the day of the participant’s registration for the event.
    6.2. Data about the participant’s first name, last name, date of birth, gender, country, city, as well as data about results achieved in the event (time, place) – for statistical/historical purposes and are not deleted.
    6.3. Data about the participant’s first name, last name, phone number, email address for direct marketing – 5 years from the granting of such consent.
  7. The participant has the right to request that Public Institution “Tarptautinis maratonas” allow access to, and correct or delete, the participant’s personal data, or restrict processing.
  8. If data are processed for direct marketing, the participant has the right to object at any time. This right can be exercised by informing via email at info@vilniauspusmaratonis.lt.
  9. The participant has the right to submit a complaint to the State Data Protection Inspectorate regarding the actions (inaction) of Public Institution “Tarptautinis maratonas,” which, in the participant’s opinion, violate legal provisions.
  10. All participants agree that their email addresses and participant numbers will be used to access GetPica service photos.

    The organizers reserve the right to change and supplement the rules. In the event of force majeure, Public Institution Tarptautinis maratonas (the party) is released from liability for failure to hold the Run and is not obliged to refund reservation fees if the event does not take place due to circumstances that the party could not control or reasonably foresee at the time of registration and could not prevent the occurrence of such circumstances or their consequences.
